About Me:

I work full time at a local area hospital, and also race at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale in the Mini Stock Division. My Race Car is used on my profile picture. One of my fellow racers at Irwindale, Tory Christopher, used to skate with the T-Birds for a couple years or so. He wore Frankie Macedo's uniform on the team, and he and I both reflected on the Roller Derby from the 80's. He looks back on it fondly.

I also like to play my guitars or my bass guitar, depending on how I feel. I love playing my bass guitar more than the regular guitar, but I enjoy playing them regardless. I also love taking pictures at the games here and have over 800 pics on this site. Soon to be over 1000 pics after Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, 2009.

In 1985, I almost tried out for the T-Birds, but it didn't happen, as when I was going to go, the try outs were called off. I was disappointed, but I'm not bitter about it. I haven't been on skates in over 25 years, but if I had it in me, and could take the pounding, I'd go for it and try out for the games. :-)

A somewhat "quick" explaination about my nickname "Mr. Neato". I go to a restaurant in the city of Industry called "Frisco's", kind of a 50's and 60's style diner with indoor carhops. About 4 years ago, two of my friends who work there would see me come in on a Friday morning and greet me and ask me how I was doing. I would respond by saying "Oh, I'm Moderately Neato". To which they kind of giggled about. After a few weeks of this, they were secretly saying "There's that Neato guy", and about a week later they both came up to me and asked if I had a nickname. I told them my real name was Charles, but my nickname was Chuck. They said "not that kind of nickname. Do you have a nickname here?" I told them I didn't, and they said they had one for me. I was like "Oh crap!". They said it wasn't a bad one. They said "You're Moderately Neato". I told them I could live with that. So for the last 4 years, I've been known at Frisco's restaurant as "Mr. Neato." I do have my nickname on my race car as well, in honor of my friends Katie and Sonya...the two who gave me my nickname. :-)

Always been a T-Bird fan. Been a fan since the 70's.

Favorite RollerGames/RollerDerby Player:

Too many to list, but Ralphie Valladares, Sam Washington & Danny Reilly for the men, and Darlene Langois, Debbie Garvey, Rena LaMaestra & Gwen Miller on the women are at the top of the list.

Favorite RollerGames/RollerDerby grudge between players:

That would be the grudge match between Ralphie and Harold Jackson over who was the fastest skater. Great matchup!! Also I liked the grudge match between Debbie Garvey and "Queen Kong" Dee Booher. Of course, I have a VHS tape of a compilation of games, and there was a grudge match between Dee Booher and the T-Bird mascot...and the mascot won...with a little help!!

I want RollerSports action to come to my town so that I can see it live.

The thing I remember most about RollerGames/RollerDerby is:

All the great entertainment watching all these great athletes on all teams each game. Also, all the managers of the other teams being a thorn in the sides of the T-Birds, like Mizz Georgia Hase, Leroy "Bad Boy" Gonzalez, "Guru" John Drew, "Pretty Boy" E.G. Miller and Anna Anaya. Great entertainment back then.

South Park, News, NASCAR Race Day on Speed, Wind Tunnel w/Dave Despain, NASCAR on Fox, NASCAR on TNT or ESPN, "Roller Games" from the 1970's & 80's, The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle.

Something nobody knows about me:

Well, it's not much of a secret, mostly because a lot of my friends know about this, but to all of you on this website, I actually do impressions. I'm pretty good at impersonating Bullwinkle J. Moose, Boris Badenov (Bullwinkle's nemesis who tries to kill moose and squirrel), Bill Clinton (That one even scares the crap out of me), Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, Droopy, Yogi and Boo Boo, Marvin the Martian, Curly from the 3 Stooges, Jimmy Durante and a few others that I can't recall right off hand. A lot of people who have heard me do these impressions have told me that I missed my calling and am in the wrong business. LOL
