When I watched roller derby back in the early eighties, and when it was on ESPN Classic, there was one voice that stood out to me and that was Dick Holoway, he made the broadcast exciting to watch. Whamo!

You'd have to ask Tony Aurrelano or Gary Powers if they have that one. Those two seem to be the best sources for IRSL games.

Hey DJD, I have yet to see this being offered on ebay, but if anyone wants to add their takes on the subject, please jump in! There is an IRSL game floating around with Nick Scopas doing the play-by-play! Once again, if anyone wants to add further i…

Hello Jim,

Thanks for your kind words. I left the Texas Outlaws to become Coach of the Detroit Devils in late 1962. I recieved a promotion to General Manager ( as well as remaining skating and coaching ) in late 1963. My active competetive skating on a team was cut short when I suffered a brocken neck on the track in 1965. I continued as Manager of the Devils and we beat the TBirds in the League Championship at the end of the Roller Games 1968 season. I became TBirds General Manager in 1969. I resigned that position in 1986. I am active as a Skating Consultant at this time.

Take care. Thanks for being a Fan for all of skating on a banked track.

Grateful,

John Hall
