We are looking for a facility on the East Coast (NJ/PA) and are wondering what other people think are requirements for a combined practice/event venue.

We are still trying to determine optimum sized track. Most likely as close to the tracks of the 50s as possible

Cost is one thing to consider.

All us skaters love the bigger tracks from the 40s and 50s best.

But venue availability, size and cost were reasons to make the tracks the size of a basket ball court.

Perhaps find a location that you can afford. Find a location that has all the facilities (bathrooms, dressing areas, and seating options). Find a location that is near the skaters. Find a location that will bring in fan traffic.

Then... you'll have a location square footage. Then you can size the track to that.

Our tracks can fit into SMALL venues because the track length can be adjusted down or up based on location. Having a 50' wide track allows you into MOST venues anywhere should you travel.

Even my 55' wide track would not fit into some venues so we could not travel to those locations even if they were perfect for derby audiences. We even had the mayor of one town be our pitch women for a live game but venue was to small for our 55' by 100' track. It's the width thats the problem.
