Please bring back GREAT skating with lots of new faces, like you did in Rock N Roller Games.
Do NOT bring in the gimmicks like people in the infield wearing chicken or bird suits, midgets or any animals - gators or anything else.

Bring in a high tech track. A see-thru track would be cool with cameras mounted strategically underneath. Take the best rules of Roller Games (NSD) and Roller Derby (IRDL) and implement them into the new version of Roller Games.

Even out the talent in each team. Don't let there be one team that's so dominant that it's obvious they'll win championship after championship.

Great uniforms -- very modern but not campy. Take a hint from pro sports and copy some of their styling. Make it look like a BIG TIME pro sport and people won't be insulted and turn away.

Don't copy WWE and pro wrestling. It's one thing to see a skater illegally bulldog another skater, but keep the piledrivers and other ridiculous wrestling moves out of Roller Games.

The key should be SPEED, POWER and FLASH. The skaters should have BIG personalities. Look at Mizz Georgia Hase, a Monster Man Bernie Jackson and Mr. Mean Harold Jackson for good examples. They can carry a game.

Most of all -- GOOD LUCK!

Joe has a point, the SKATERS should be the star of the show, period. That said, I want to see a new generation carry the ball. Having said THAT, I want to see skaters with TALENT. (Something I didn't see when I watched Hot Flash or on the majority of the Rockers squads.) The Van Galder Twins just didn't have the personality or talent to make me want to care about them yet they were shoved down the fans' throats week in and week out. Yes they were pretty but so was Shelly Jamison and I don't recall having to watch her skate or have storylines built around her.

Which brings me to the Van Galder "T-Bird" Twins storyline fiasco. A. This went on WAAAAAY too long and B. none of this made sense and C. it was never properly explained until AFTER the final decision from Griffiths was made.

1. How were the T-Birds allowed to draft two skaters at the same time in the first place without trading for back to back pick?

2. How did the Maniacs and Violators get to draft them afterwards? Are we to believe that they were BOTH drafted TWICE?

3. Why was it so dastardly for the Twins to be on teams not named T-Birds just because? (Yet I don't recall anyone bitching about the fact that Dar and Flanigam jumped to the Rockers directly from the T-Birds before the season.)

Again, they did a poor job of mixing sport with storyline, (which they didn't really need when the very innovative gameplay was so much more exciting to watch.)

The Ralphie HOF storyline cannot be repeated with another skater because it was a total mess that didn't make any sense. (Why should we be made to feel sorry for someone who everyone and their dog knew was getting into the HOF the nanosecond he retires anyway?) Another thing I was irked by was just how much he was pushed as THE star of Rollergames, this despite the fact that he was CLEARLY decades past his prime and hadn't been a top skater in about 15 years. You may as well have brought back Danny Riley, Charlie O' Connell and Honey Sanchez back in skates and done the same with them. (Considering the fact that Harold Jackson was by FAR the best skater in the entire company, this looked more than a little silly.) I just didn't feel like pulling for Ralphie because he didn't have to be inducted RIGHT NOW at the time. They should have built the T-Birds around Randi and Stars & Stripes and left Ralphie and the Twins as secondary players ala Icebox and been done with it.

Basically, keep the storylines to a minimum and let the GAMES and SKATERS rule the track and I'll watch again.

The girls teams were weak >>> but Bad Attitude did have Patsy Delgado Lyle Morse, BMX champ Margaret Christopher >>> and Ms Georgia Hase to liven things up a bit

All in all I know we can make a better product. There's alot of great ideas out there. But do we seriously need to talk trash about Ralphie? It's not his fault that the people who ran RNR RollerGames made him a star. He was already a star in my book. But lets get past that. We have a way to go. Getting the talent together. Waiting for the green light from David. The team names. The uniforms. The track design. I know which track design I would choose. What the half time show or competition will be. Like maybe a 1 period little league derby bout. But anyways that's just my opinion.

I do agree that it should not be WWE-like with all the piledrivers, etc. Also, the storylines were a little strange and there wasn't much history to them. There was a lot of focus on the twins and Ralphie, but the other skaters should have a little more controversy as well. I know writing a storyline can be difficult but it could be more convincing.
I also like the track as it is, personally. Maybe in time, making some changes could be a possibility but the added wall and jump made it more fun to watch. One thng that was REALLY cheesy to me was the little profile of the Rockers and their "playing" on stage. I mean, nothing against them but that was no where NEAR convincing to me. If a team is going to be profiled, then LOOK like you know what your doing (example was the guitar playing where one of the guys was just beating on the guitar...looked pretty stupid.)

Everyone has their favorites and I think if the storylines were more convincing and less confusing, people could get into it every week. And as I said, there were only a choice few that were focused on each week (Twins & Ralphie from the T-Birds, Sweet Steph and Mr. Mean on the Violators, Dar The Star on the Rockers, etc). There was a lot of talent from many others that could have been focused on as well.

Ace the crocks....just my opinion...kinda out of the element.

First step though, release the Rollergames DVD for some extra cash!! We want it!! And we should have first dibs on a presale! =))

Hi,

I agree with Drew. Also, I have stated before I enjoyed the music, especially from "Terrific" Tammy Hanson, but every other week we could have had an interview with one of the young rookies like Matt, Tammy, Cass McEntee of Hot Flash and Brian Jacobson of the Rockers among others. They all had fans who were curious about them and would've liked to have gotten to know them a bit more.
Matt definitlely could have gotten a big push between his amazing JetWa skills and obviously he was a fan favorite especially with female fans for obvious reasons. They should've done more with him. Brian and Cass. JMHO
I am also pushing for the Official DVD to come out in the hopes that it would have extras like deleted scenes, skater profiles, lost interviews and what have you. If it comes out, put me down for a pre-sale.

@ Amy... And don't forget a BAd Atitude championship run. lol As much as the tweety birds were popular. I preferred BA over them. I thought they were a great team.. And some other things.

You have to consider whne this was made. Back when big hair bands were still pretty big. MTV was still about music instead of the garbage reality tv crud they have today. So I am not surprised they did what they did.. Today it should be about the athletes not about the other stuff. If anything was to be brought back from the old RGI of 89. It would have to be the wall of Death. Forget the gators.

First off, I do really appreciate you all for being Rollergames fans. I'd love nothing more than to see it come back. (especially on DVD Mr. Sams!)

I do agree quite a bit with Father James and Amy with their ideas. I know some liked the crocks for a tie-breaker but another possibility...have a male and female skater from each team do a 45 sec cycle and see who scores the most out of them. Choices of runners could be based on personal points for the season and this could also possibly bring about some controversial storylines. Or maybe just a rotation so there are different ones...just a thought.

A rookie-of-the-year trophy or award would also be nice since the focus won't just be on the most popular skaters. Stars and Stripes, Cass and others could have gotten more notoriety based on their skills rather than their looks.

Also, I think there are some that could have really used some acting classes. Let's face it, sports entertainment has a "soap opera" element. As much as I love watching them skate and put their skills to the test, the rivalries, the trash talking, etc. adds so much and hooks me in. However, some of the skaters could have used a course in basic acting. People loved the Van Galder twins because they were "cutesy" and blonde, but they really didn't come off as convincing to me, such as the T-Birds / Violators game when Sweet Stephanie talked some garbage. They just kinda shook their heads and seemed humdrum.
Many people didn't like Stephanie or Mr. Mean for that matter, but they were GOOD with their hostility. Some backfired (like Stephanie trying to take out Skinny Minnie when Minnie ducked under her) and Mr. Mean getting tossed over into the drink by his brother (and the Icebox at one time). They took beatings but occasionally dished it out as well. If you did not like them, then they must have been doing something right.

Um...I really don't have an interest for the cheerleaders personally...if I wanna watch cheering bimbi, I'll watch college sports...
