Is this what the sport of roller derby that I grew up to love has come to advertising on Craigs List.. This is totally garbage and is ruining the game and making it a laughing stock no wonder TV or fans dont go to the games.and its the reason games in the bay area are sooooo sloppy with uniforms that dont match, and skaters that are not athletes in top shape FAT AND SLOPPY..Jerry Seltzer or Bill Griffith would have never stood for this...... I WANT TO PUKE. I sure hope this changes see the ad below... HERE IS THE LINK ALSO

Well here is my take ive been a rollerdrby fan for over 30 years and ive enjoyed all of the different forms of derby .Well back in august me and my wife went to our very first roller derby game seing the pioneers against the bombers and let me tell you i was very impressed.See i dont mind if their older skaters as long as they can skate.I got to see one of my idols Richard Brown and he may be in his 60s but man he could skate.I felt that both teams did a great job and it was very entertaining. What i really liked was their was a good combination of veterans and younger players. One of my other favorite moments was meeting Gina Valaderes,Her husband Dave Martinez and their Daughter Megan who i feel will be a big star she really has talent and Debbie Van DOREN.I went up to them before the game and said im jim from wisconsin and they wereall so nice, they posed for pictures and were all so nice. But to me the best class acts were Jim Fitzpatrick and Makani.I met Jim before the gameand he was really nice.Well its along story but the hotel my wife booked us in was alot further then wethought so we had to take a cab to the game well the cab driver said he could pick us up after the game so of course my wife called and they said it was too far to go and they gave her a number to call and they gave her a wrong number fortunately Someof the skaters were their so i went up to Jim Fitzpatrick and told him our problem well he right away was like we will get you to our hotel Well he brings over Makani and not only does Makani take us to our hotel ,we offer him money for taking us and he says no then he feels bad about everything so he takes out to eat.All i can say that was a class act.We Not only saw 2 great games and i felt the crowd had a blast and we will definately be back.

These old-school games are great for us who are about 50 years old and older because they remind all of of some really cool thing we saw on TV when we were just children. We are connecting to the live games with our childhood memory of something cool we saw.

People who are under the age of 35 have a much harder time relating to the current old-school games because they have no fond TV memory to summon up.

When the games can create a new fond memory for very young children again, that is when roller derby will be back.

Perhaps David Sams can create that derby magic for children again?

We need to reach the young people with games as us old fans are few and far between now.

I've only been to one San Francisco Bay Bombers game when they played Ralphie's All Stars at Industry Hills in September, and I just want to commend ALL the skaters for putting on one helluva show. Trish, Lali, Melissa, Patsy, Gina V., Debbie Van Doren, Megan Martinez, Pam Schwab, E.G. Miller, Ray and Brian Robles....Everybody! Jim Fitzpatrick and Honey Sanchez in the infield, managing their respective teams, creating mayhem, and best of all, giving all the fans in attendance a GREAT show.

I saw a big difference in the attendance at that game as opposed to the RGI games, and it was promoted well. I think, and this is my personal opinion, that if Bob Sedillo promoted the RGI Games like this game was, he could get a lot more fans in the stands, or as we say on a different message board, "Put Butts in the seats!" The ARSD has a good thing going, and I only hope I can make it to a few more of their games....and take pictures! Dan Ferarri is doing a great job from what I see, and Jim Fitzpatrick is doing a great job at what he is doing for the Bombers, whether it be coaching, training and managing. Kudo's to all involved, from management to the skaters. You got one fan in me that appreciates what you do and go through to put on a show.

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for your support too. If you ever make it up here for a game, I'll get you on the infield to take a team picture if you'd like! While you're there, you might as well take a team picture of the other team too. Especially if those two hot Red Devils (Trish and Melissa) from Vegas are there!
