I'm very sad to say that Bob Sedillo passed away last night. Thanks for trying to bring derby back, Bob. R.I.P.

Also, Darrylle Davis is in the hospital. Let's keep him in our thought, too.
Get well soon Darrylle!

WOW!!! That's surprising to hear about Sedillo. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Also hope Darryle gets better soon!

Sorry about the loss of Sedillo. +

I'm hoping even more that "Dynomite Darryl" will get well soon, ROLLERGAMES FOREVER!

That is indeed sad news. Under his watch the T-Birds returned to their original red, white, and blue color scheme, plus we had hopes for a revival of the Warriors had he been able to retain ownership of RGI. Rest In Peace - he will be missed!

DERBI DIVA

Now that Bill Sr. has regained control of RGI, it kinda makes you wonder if he should try to unload the promotion on ol' Vinnie Mac? He might still get some bux off of VKMcM - it doesn't hurt to try!

I don't see that happening anytime soon. I would seriously doubt that Vince McMahon would take any interest in roller derby to promote. Remember the XFL....all 6 games of it? Where is it now? It didn't work out for him. I give him credit for trying, but it didn't have a following and it basically sucked ass! Glad I didn't watch any of it. I caught maybe 1 or 2 minutes of it, and that was enough for me to stay away from it.

I'd rather watch a pure derby game. Real skaters, real talent and real ability, without the fake BS like WWE. Just my 2 cents worth. :-)

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I doubt the World Whining Empire would want to promote the very sport they've hated for decades.

If Quintex didn't go belly-up the ROLLERGAMES show I saw would've sent the McMahons back to the jersey shore trailer parks from whence they came !

RollerGames (the 1989-90 TV version) was doing better in the ratings than American Gladiators at one point. But I agree. If Quintex had not bought the farm, and RollerGames had done away with the gator and those made-up team names (Violators, Rockers, etc.), and brought back the original RGI names (Philly Warriors, N.Y. Bombers, Texas Outlaws, Western Renegades, etc.), they might have had something that could have lasted for as long as Gladiators did (1989-96), and roller derby wouldn't have been nonexistent for almost the entire 1990s.

I forgot all about Qintex going bankrupt. I remember when I worked for a messenger service, we would either pick up something from Qintex or deliver to them. I think they were off of Wilshire Bl. in Bev. Hills by Santa Monica Bl. If Rollergames was on TV in 1990 or 1991, I delivered or picked up from Qintex around that time.

Like I said, McMahon and the WWE would show no interest in the games, and would try to kill off the derby........and if he bought off the T-Bird name and RGI from Bill Griffiths Sr., McMahon could do anything he wanted, and all the legends of the sport would want to throw up, and the legends of the sport who are no longer with us would roll over in their graves in disgust. I watch the WWE, and out of any normal 2 hour show they put on, there's more of the drama and yackety yacking, trying to prove who's "manhood" is larger than anyone elses, and there's very little wrestling. The divas, although they are good looking, are basicaly not taken seriously.....just a bit of "fluff" so all the men watching can pull themselves through puberty. The only diva I like on there, and who I think is probably the better of them...Mickie James.

But in all seriousness......who gives a flying fart about the WWE!! This is ROLLER GAMES/DERBY!! Long live Derby and it's skaters, whether it be the legends who have been in the sport and still love it and can perform well in front of the crowds.....to the up and coming new generation of skaters who are still learning the ropes and are willing to do all it takes to keep this sport alive for generations to come.

I stopped watching wrestling in 2001, after he bought WCW and ECW. At one point, I thought WCW was the better draw, and ECW far more daring.

This is true. I liked WCW much more than WWE and never really caught on to ECW. I watched ECW and saw Raven, Sandman, The Dudley's, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer and others, and thought it was a different look to the sport of wrestling. I thought it was far too violent a to the content of what they were doing like Barbed Wire matches or to see who could be the more sadistic, but then they started doing the crossover to WWE. Now, ECW isn't as it used to be, and is more of a watered down version of what it used to be. Just my opinion.

Right now, Vince McMahon and the WWE have to worry about TNA Impact. Hulk Hogan has signed on, not sure if it's as a wrestler or behind the scenes, but they are goingto take on the WWE and go up against them on Monday Nights starting Monday, January 4th, 2010. It'll be interesting to see how the WWE deals with it, as I don't think Vince McMahon likes any competition. LOL

I've watched quite a few clips of the old derby from the 1960s, '70s and early-'80s, and I must say that, if McMahon's wrestling today had to compete with the derby of the 1960s and early-'70s, he'd probably break a sweat trying to stay in business.
