DJ of Destruction.

With all the buzz about the upcoming non scripted game. Lets have a fun discussion putting us in the manager seat.

So in this one we get to choose our dream ladies team. lets make it interesting, lets age progress all skaters from all leagues to about age 23-28. for this fantasy team. We choose our team and out strategy. I will dedicate this post to the "legendary Georgia Hase" as she has been doing this for years in real life.
My Stephanie team :
Joanie Weston - All defense in her prime could actually probably stop some girls from scoring, A hard blocker and a thinking skater, She would have a field day in a legit game.
Vicky Steppe - another blocker , large yet very fast, and could jam or block.
Peanuts Meyer - A small fast very smart skater from back in the day. Who other skaters could not handle due to her size.
Bj Peterson - Another of the smart and very talented skaters, that would handle a lot of the blocking duties, just look at the last jam in the clip here, Also very tricky.
Finally I would want Denise Loden - On her roller jam alone, she was by far the best skater that league had. Confident and intimidating, her no fear approach to the game and hard blocking skills would wear the other team out after a short time.
Stephanie Garcia - Possible the Ann Calvallo of Roller games, her temperament would be the Adrenaline to charge her team, I would want her as mostly a jammer, and a trash talker to throw off the other team.
Stacy Blitsch - She brings flash to the team and energy, She would jam and block in heavy rotation, as she hits hard, and doesnt play it safe all the time.

Alternates - Gwen Miller - She Would be an asset to any team, legit or scripted. Her speed and blocking ability would come in handy against the girls her size, And could compete with Debbie Rice.
Sister Mary Jane - Again I liked her as a Rollergirl. She was rough, could block and jammed a lot for a big girl.

My Strategy (Stacy's team) - Skate the game in a way that we get the first jammers out more often, With Weston,Denise, Mary Jane and Vicky in the front of the pack slowing down the other team, it should be easy. Rotate between Stacy, Carol and Peterson on the jam. With Sister Mary Jane jamming at the end of the period. During the second half, after having Weston and steppe soften up the completion, With hard blocking in the pack I would start attempting power plays. With stacy jamming more and the smaller defensive skaters, Loden, Miller and Peterson slowing down the opposing jammers. I would take a speed approach , score then cut off the jam asap.

My Stephanie team would take a different approach, as I would have my blockers purpose keep the opposing jammers in the pack till we got our jammer out, skating the game in a more red shirt manner, I would have Denise , Stephanie, Gwen and Peterson do most of the jamming. Peanuts would be blocking low in the pack and keeping the other skaters off stride. Possibly even causing pile ups and making it easy for my team to score. With Weston and Steppe, constantly blocking and intimidating to opposing team. I would aim for a slower pack speed, and use a lot of double blocks if I could to slow down the opposing jammers. I would also have my team bend the rules to the breaking point. As Peterson, Steppe, and Stephanie are good at that.

Thats my approach to being a manager in a game like this one. any other ideas or teams?

Well, there was no protection or padding of any kind since they put me in that wonderful "gold lamme" costume! The only protection I had was what little bounce I got from the track, but as I said, Sean always knows what he's doing out there, so as no one gets hurt during those type of stunts. Of course both parties need to know what they are doing. I actually enjoyed big hits like that, a real crowd pleaser! lol
That's the kind of skating I love! LOL

Who cares what kind of roller skates they wear?

Yep.....never piss of your wife....otherwise, you probably would have got hurt worse. Then you would really have to explain how you got injured to all the guys. LOL

I may not be 100% positive on this, but back in Roller Jam, were you injured with a shoulder injury or was that for television storylines? I seen to remember you having your arm and/or shoulder wrapped up in tape or gauze or in a sling, I forgot which, and you still skated with the pain you were in.

Hey, that was actually part of a story line. Remember, I am the Atk Attack, and both I (and the woverine) have antium in our bones, therefore we cannot be injured. lol

You are too funny! ;0) Sean and I both are ready to lace them up anytime. I'll have to speak with Sean about uploading a video! It didn't really take anytime at all to set up that play, we all worked so much together and Sean's timing has always been great so you normally didn't have to worry about a play going wrong with him.

You don't have to worry about that, Sean did a couple match races in Roller Jam, always action packed! Being his wife and knowing him better than anyone, I would still be on the edge of my seat sometimes at how far he would go and sacrafice his body to entertain the fans. But as I said before, my hats off to all the Roller Jam skaters...we all worked hard as a team and it takes two in a match race to tango :0)

that was a crazy clip- I now know what Tim was talking about. Seans match races with EG Miller and Bren Futura, were much more exciting, and a lot rougher! I love Bill Hill, but that was a joke! Isnt that footage from the Pioneers game with Stacy and Lali?
