My favorite T-Bird skaters for the men were "The Living Legend" Ralphie Valladares, and Stars & Stripes! Two of the best skaters on the men's team.

Stars & Stripes was especially my favorite because he was so good scoring 6 points on the Wall of Death and 6 points on the Jet Jump as well! he almost always maxed out in the jetway with 12 total points, every time.

For the women, I loved all of them, but my two favorites were Electric Randi (Randi Whitman) and Skinny Minnie. (Gwen Miller)

Gwen Miller just zoomed around that track. She was one of the fastest skaters in the league. I still love her to this day!

I believe her daughter skates with a flat track league in Florida. Or so I've read in an interview.

Hi Bob
Don't forget about Colleen Richardson, Bren Green and John Single who were amongst the very first Australian T-Birds. Colleen skated for Australia along with Peter Kelly and Karen Stevens in the World Series in LA in 1967.

Hi Carol sorry I did not forget them but I did not think many people would remember them my mistake as we all skated out of Annandale with Tony and Shirley it is great to see someone remember them. do you remember any more names back in the late 1968s -1971 when so many Aussie were replacing the Americans when they were going home slowly and we took over from them, there we some very good skaters who went on to skate for the Australian Kangaroos in the states and on to Asia tour please test your memorie hope you can recall some of our names to help us find any more skaters or fans who also loved the game as skaters or fans.

Hi Bob
I Remember seeing Colleen Richardson and Bren Green skate in Newcastle with the T-Birds against Leroy Gonzales NY Bombers. Ann Calvello was captain of T-Birds and Ralphie was the coach.
Yes I still remember some from that time, Mainly Robyn Hughes, Daphnie McBride, Elaine Everson, Russle Hilton, Bob Black, Larry Stone, Bob Murdock and I know there were many more from that time.
Bob do you remember a skater named Ann McLaren. i think she skated with the Aust T-Birds 66/67. I vaguely remember her skating in a game in Melbourne .

As I read everyones answers to this question I counldn't help but notice that it wasn't all the pretty, sexy people they like to put on the track, people were actually watching how well each one was skating. It was refreshing and should be an eye-opener as to what the public really want. It isn't all the glamour, it is the talent that attracts people to the sport. Ralphie was an incredible skater and a wonderful man. Harold Jackson is an extrememly talented skater. Jerry Reis moved here from Hawaii at he age of 16 because all he wanted to do was skate. And skate he did and very well! Gwen's talents always amazed me. Danny Reilly was a great skater despite his size. Larry Lewis was a great skater as was Victor Redmond. All these skaters were very dedicated to this sport and gave their all for the game. During those years when skating was hot back in the 70's and 80's there was a lot of skaters that were stars in their own right, despite not being cute or handsome, even though some were, but with the real bank track they were all extremely talented. I really hope that roller games becomes a very valued sport again. There is much to learn from the elders and new skaters are very fortunate to have the advice of all the veteran skaters. It would be wonderful to see all the old skaters skate again since they still seen to be everyones favorites anyway. I would love to see a special game with all the veteran skaters so the new people could see how it was done. Very exciting and fun! Thank you for letting me give my opinion.
