What was your favorite venue to see a live roller derby game?

I've seen both Games and Derby skated in a number of different venues.

The Olympic Auditorium is fantastic and has history. I've been going there since I was a kid. My stepmother used to wrestle there.

My favorite place to see a game is at Kezar Pavilion in Golden Gate Park in the beautiful City of San Francisco. Take care.

I loved the track. I would prefer that track over any flat track.

I've been to 16 different venues for roller derby. My all time favorite is the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN. The Kezar Pavilion would be #2. I have pics. of 15 venues I've been to on my page if anyone is interested in checking them out. I lost a lot of pics. when my computer crashed last year. These aren't professional pics., but they will give you an idea of the way each is set up.

I screwed up, it wasn't the Xcel Engergy Center, it was the Roy Wilkins Auditorium. They are right next door to each other and are both part of the RiverCentre Convention Center Complex in St. Paul, MN.

I know the Sandiego sports arena hosted some derby games in the mid 70's. Too bad I never knew about it.

Yes, the T-Birds played games about once a month at the San Diego Sports Arena in the late 70's and early 80's. I worked as a referee in a game there in March 1980.

They drew pretty decent crowds in San Diego.

Which I lovingly call Dysfunctional land. But seems like a good place to hold it. Unless another place comes to mind.

Hey there Dave, it's me Kenneth Palmer! I'm the guy that says both you and I need to GET A HAIRCUT! Just kidding! Anyway, one of may favorite venues to watch roller games was the old Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino,C.A. during the 70's. I believe they also had some wrestling matches there too. Who was your stepmother who wrestled at the Olympic Auditorium? I used to watch was what called Lucha Libre which took place at the Olympic Auditorium during the 70's on television. You're right, that place has a lot of history. Unfortunately, I have never had the chance to go there in person. I sure wish I could have though. Anyway, the old Swing was destroyed when a small plane crashed into it when the pilot had a supposed heart attack at the controls while flying it. Take care!
